I forgot to buy the gasket online, so I just went to the dealer for it. When I was there, out of curiosity, I asked how much this part would cost from them. I think they said $263. So, I saved a lot of money. I have no idea what they would have charged for labor either. If I had had them do it, I know the cost would have been exorbitantly high.The valve took me maybe 15 minutes to replace. I used my code scanner to clear the code once I was done. The dealer charged me $100.00 to diagnose this since Auto Zone could not do anymore than give me the code. This was a waste of money, they wanted $480.00 to fix it. I told them no and asked for the part#. Amazon sold me this item for $150.00 less than the dealer and it took 10 minutes to put it in (the dealer number was different but this one was shown as cross reference). On top of that the dealer wanted $150.00 for the labor. This is one of the easiest fixes that you could want to do. Once you put this new component in you will need to drive the car 3x to reset the dash engine light. Good luck and don't listen to the dealers! |
